Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Program (MAAP)

NSST is committed to fostering a fun, healthy and safe environment for all of its members is USA Swimming's commitment.

For that reason, NSST has in place all required policies to ensure our athletes have a fun, healthy and safe environment. In addition, Safe Sport also provides policies, education, a reporting structure, and tools that are intended to serve our members as we work together to maintain this environment. Coach, Officials & Chaperones Mandatory Athlete Protection Training - this Safe Sport certification is required for all adult members of USA Swimming, including coaches, officials, chaperones, meet directors and adult athletes.

Recommended Online Safe Sport Training for Athletes and Parents - Safe Sport provides online training for both athletes and parents offering an introduction to Safe Sport, protection measures, and reporting information. The course available to both members and non-members of USA Swimming, and is free. The course is optional; however, NSST receives points toward USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognition based on the percentage of registered households that have completed it so we strongly encourage all parents and athletes to get involved.

Safe Sport Activity Book For Kids - designed specifically for kids ages 6-11 as a way to start the conversation about positive team culture, maintaining an environment of support and safety, and all the reasons to love the sport of swimming.
